retire at age 65?
Hmmm,
Today i had the day off, it was quite enjoyable. Firstly last night i went out to a few pubs in a place called Covnent Gardens with Anika and Amy. The area i guess is quite similar is someways to Pitt st mall, with buscars (if thats how u spell it) in the st doing their thing. It was a good night just to see them, wasnt too late of a night but had a few beers and sampled a few new ones too.
So when i woke up today i didnt have much planned so i slept in and basically had the house to myself as everyone went out shopping. I watched quite a bit of tv...the satellite tv they have here (sky) has like no joke 30 music channels, so i scrolled through them whilst doing my stretches. After stretches and singing a lil to 'the killers' which was playing i went upstairs to Diane and Gordon's sons room, simon, and used his computer. You see upstairs he pays for broadband adsl and i was so happy to be on it hehe. For a few hours i chatted to people, checked news websites, logged into my computer at home and just generally surfed the net. This kind of stuff i really do like..and its one way which i relax....its basically i guess for me..the same how ppl just veg on TV, i veg on the net. So after a few hours i also started to search for cheap flights to switzerland or denmark. After quite a while researching i found a nice flight on the 1st of may to geneva which ended up costing me about 70 bucks australian.....cheapest by like 50bucks!
So as u can guess im on my way to geneva on the 1st...then i catch a train to the place where seb is staying i always forget it..i really shouldnt cause im going to have to catch a train there! Its called lausanne im pretty sure and short train ride from geneva. I wasnt exactly sure when i would be going there...but because i found this flight i decided just to book it and be off! I think even to seb's suprise hehe. Well it will work out one way or another, i think hes moving into his own place around the same time, so i can always stay somewhere else for a few nights np. So that looks like its my next little side adventure in my travels.
Im actually quite happy to get outta england purely cause i feel i can travel for longer if i go to another country because of how expensive it is. So off i go, seb said something about seeing italy so maybe go there with him not too sure, he mighta planned that with cara who comes over near the end of june. Hopefully ill still be around and be able to see her too! though dont know which country hehe. Places i still kinda wanna go are ireland to visit a internet friend, netherlands...just cause i havent been and im sure it would be quite the experience, denmark cause its meant to be beautiful and again a net friend there...and also sweden to visit another net friend. Only problem with sweden is that the net guy i know is like total north sweden in kiruna (Basically lapland) and its quite expensive to get there as its remote. So i still gotta work that one out, either way ill definately be checking ryanair.com a bit during this trip. That company rocks!!
So thats about all thats happening, i sent a group email around too which hopefully everyone got, felt i hadnt sent one for a while. As for how im going mentally?
Well i have been taggin on with my parents a bit and tomorrow i probaly will for a while too. But i seem to be looking forward to when they do depart. Its all a little to easy..and thats one of the reason i quickly booked this flight to switzerland as i kind of want to be by myself and a lil lost, if thats sounds normal. Its more of the challenge of being alone..even though i wont be cause seeing seb, but still....as much as it is scary...the unknown that is..its also one way to really find yourself and see who u really are. That might sound cheesey but i feel its true, when everything is new and ur put in a place with little comfort you seem to come out more. Hope that makes sense to someone other then me.
So as you can see, im trying to put my self in more testing situations. Like situations where i am by myself as so far on this trip i havent been to isolated or i feel challenged enough. So off to switzerland i go! hehe im quite excited as i like the feeling of entering new countries especially ones u havent been to...and maybe not england with they interogate you! (which will happen again when i come back which sux).
Unfortunately due to my finiacial situation, i feel i wont be able to see it all. I guess i have to be patient, you cant see it all at once you know joel! But i so want too eheh. With finland im happy cause i got to know the country pretty well...except the north area which i will go back to someday. England..i dont think i could get to know the country unless i worked/lived here. You basically cant holiday here for long and expect to see everything in a few weeks, theres just too much to see and do. But i dont think im going to get working visa for this holiday...like let my parents take passport and stay here a month. Thats for another trip i think. Working trips...im also not too sure about india and asia too. Like i want to get to know a country and u cant in a few days or even 2 weeks i think. So im not too sure what going to do there....either go there and live really really cheaply or come back to australia not via india or maybe for a week and then save some more and work really hard and do the hole asia thing. Vietnam/laos/cambodia/india/nepal and also japan on that trip i guess to...korea too...if i have the money. But i guess it all comes down to that..the money...either become a contiki tour guide or work ur ass off in australia save money and travel. I guess another good thing would be to work/live somewhere. Im quite angry that i didnt get in for nova for japan...though maybe i wasnt ready for that...but i feel i am now. Be a good way to get to know japan even if u cant save money from the earnings just to support urself and learn the culture. Maybe there is another way a lil bit of research into things and asking people im sure theres plenty of other ways to experience it all.
i guess it sounds like i have some travel bean and i guess i do to some extent. I want to travel as i feel if im in australia im not doing anything with my life. That sounds quite negative but its how i feel. Its like the same feeling as i felt in perth when i was there...i was wasting my life or something like that. Though if i do work atleast ill be working for something and that is travel. Who knows...i really dont have any plans....something might come up in the meantime and turn everything upside down, who knows? just take it as it comes.
nn all.
